luithier


Hello i would like to learn about being a luithier i guess as a hobby and also to build a guitar from scratch. Can someone please point me in the direction books videos supplies and such.

Find out what you need there, and then buy it somewhere else because their prices are absurd. There's alot of info on the site though.

The spelling is luthier.

The supply houses like stewmac and lmi sell lots of books and videos. There are a number of good online resources, such as: projectguitar.com, mimf, etc. that contain a wealth of information if you spend the time to extract it. If you like classroom instruction better, there are a few luthier schools around the country (I think there's one in Phoenix) -- but they are expensive.
