mahogany neck for an electric guitar? Is this ok?

I've got some quarter sawn mahogany blanks that are big enough to make a guitar neck out of. I am making a guitar neck for an electric guitar with a stew mac 2 way hot rod truss.
I know most necks are made out of maple.....but is mahogany good for a neck for an electric? Is it strong enough to withstand the tension on a strung guitar? Or will it flex/warp more than maple?

I know there are luthiers on this site.....so i would appreciate some input from you guys!
Thanks, Silver

Mahogany works as well as maple on guitar necks. For evidence, find a nice '62 SG or even an older Les Paul...
