major changes y'all

hello again, ive decided to do the trem to hardtail conversion since i don't use the trem anymore, and i think its causing me grief, anyway, just wanted to ask two questions, firstly is there anyway i can replace my locking nut with a more regular nut? and secondly how do you remove the trem post fitting in the guitar (the one that is actually in the wood) so i can rout out the required space for the blocks of wood etc. thanx.

Do a search on "anchors" and you should find some help. They're supposed to just pull out of the wood.

yeah thanx ive actually just seen it on project guitar, my real issue is the nut however, how can i place a regular one, or something that will give me more stable tuning in there, considering the size of the locking nut, and the gap thats going to be left after i remove it.

p.s. i dont want to use the clamps the lock the strings down as i like to alter the tuning now and then.
