Major Help! String Clamp Won't Budge!
Hey,
I've got an RG 2550 with an Edge Pro. Before you think it, yes I have checked Ibanezrules. Right so here's my problem. I was about to change my strings because I have a important gig next Wednesday and I wanted to play my new ibanez. So I take the back panel off, unlock the neck lock and unwind my old high E string, I then unscrew the string clamp successfully. I then insert another high E string and proceed to clamp the string into place. I clamped it in then I realised the string was not in the middle of the saddle so I go to un-clamp it and 'whadda you know', the screw turns but the clamp doesn't blooming loosen.
Can you please help me fix this, how can I un-budge my string clamp?
Please
Reece

well i know that it does take a good amt of force for the clamp to open at first but if it seems like it is going to break then these guys should know some crazy way of opening it. Also why would you take the back panel off?

Hey,
I took the back panel off to adjust the trem angle.
The screw can come out but the block just doesn't move.

you try get something to use as like a crowbar for it? idk what you could use but something that might be able to fit in there and be strong enough to pry it open. also i thought all edge pro equipped guitars had back panels with the holes in it so you can set it up without taking it off?

There was a topic ages ago from someone having the exact same problem on his edge pro. I
think
simply wiggling it loose with a small screwdriver worked for him.

Ah, So shall I stick something down the hole where the string is and wriggle it? Or take the screw out and wriggle it?

Hey,
I've tried but with no avail. I think I'll take it to a tech, see what they can do.
Cheers anyway

I'm not as familiar with the edge pro as i am with the lo pro or original edge,
but make sure you are not over tightening the clamps.
I know someone who would and the blocks became deformed and cracked
