Maximum edge-pro height adjustment

I want the 3 lowest (B, E, A) strings of my 1527 to be quite high, what's the highest level the edge 7 bridge can be adjusted to. I mean if I keep on raising the height of the action is my trem eventually gonna pop out or is there something in there that will stop me from adjusting it to it's limit?

Thanks

Oh, and I assume the angle of the trem when it's not being manipulated by the trem-arm should be parallel to the guitar's body yes? Apologies for the stupid questions, I've never set up a guitar before and can't bear to leave it in the shop while my amp sits home unused, so I wanna learn to do it myself

Re: Maximum edge-pro height adjustment

If you are talking about raising the action with the trem studs, yes they will eventually come all the way out of the anchors -- but the action will be ridiculously high before that happens. If you only raise the bass side a lot, you may run into problems with the trem hanging up. The individual saddles can be raised with shims if you want to raise only those strings without moving the others.

Re: Maximum edge-pro height adjustment

mmm, now heres an interesting problem. I need to set the intonation, but I dont have the tool to do it (no cash at the moment) does anyone have a method for setting intonation without the tool (the one that holds what i believe are called the saddles in place)?

Loosen the saddle screw, adjust, retighten, tune, repeat until you have it as close as you can get it using a tuner.

Re: Maximum edge-pro height adjustment

Well, for the Edge Pro, there is no tool anyway. So you get to do it the old way as Dee mentioned: loosen the string, move the saddle, retune, repeat.

You can also use Rich's method. Use a padded clamp to hold the trem bar down to the body. That takes the tension off the strings and lets you adjust the saddles without spending so much time winding tuners. Release the bar and recheck.
