Measuring pickup output - Particularly IBZUSA C1 & C2

So, I have four of these stacked buckers, but only one that I believe is a C2, which is supposedly the hotter of the two. *As I intend to keep it set low for playing purposes, I want to use the hotter C2. *Problem is, I was checking out the pups (top coil only) with an ohmmeter and I get 8.0, 8.3, and 8.5k DC resistance. *The 8.3 is the one I thought was a C2! *Oh, the confusion... I thought that given the same magnets (which I assumed they had) the higher resistance would have more windings and thus higher output.

So, does anyone know what the resistance of C1 & C2 pups are supposed to be? *Or, is there any easy way of measuring output instead of DC resistance, which isn't a true output measure?

Thanks, for listening, guys...

Measuring pickup output

...m'kay...

Simpler question... the pickups page shows a chart with output in mv for DiMarzio pups, but there's no such critter for IBZUSA ones. *Since they were made by DiMarzio, I figure SOMEBODY's got this info. *Is that person here???

The DiMarzio HS series pups use Alnico 5 magnets. *Anyone know if the C1 & C2 use those too? (HS is closest to these in DiMarzio's regular line).

Measuring pickup output

Hey, I found this post by searching for info on the IBZ/USA pickups. Looks like this is the right place!

What's the lowdown on these pickups? They were made by DiMarzio, right? I'm also looking for info about them, what other DiMarzios they're comparable to. I had an F3 in a guitar and it was great, but what is it similar to in the DiMiarzio line? How about the F2? F1? And the C series Jester mentioned?

Measuring pickup output

I e-mailed DiMarzio. *They didn't have specs but said their HS1 and HS2 had the same specs as the C1 & C2, respectively (in terms of resistance & output). *The HS3 is different and can be seen on their site.

I wonder what the real differences were... *Anyway, I bought another 2 C2s (part of a set) and they measure pretty low in resistance - 8.1ish. *They probably vary all over the place. *I wonder if the C series were HS blems or something. *They are good sounding pups though, IMO.
