Re: Modding a Boss DS-1

^ its easy actually, you just change the capacitors, LEDs, and resistors according to which mods you're trying to achieve. I dont know where you'd get supply for electronics in Penang but its very easy here.

Cept mostly around here, there are a lot of ceramic ones and less metal.

Re: Modding a Boss DS-1

Just passing through.

I take it you are looking on sourcing a mod kit for a DS-1.

I attach a link to Monte Allums who does such things for a whole variety of Boss pedals.I have done a few using his kits, you just have to be really careful with removing and installing each of the replacement components which are generally higher quality diodes and capacitors. Watch out for wires breaking loose. Before embarking on any of the mods it is best to ensure that all of the wires are 100% secure. I have had the odd occasion where whilst working on replacing the components a wire has come loose and I had to work out exactly where it came from. Not easy if you are a complete novice like me
