modding an original neck joint to accommodate an aanj neck?

hi, thought i would give some background.
i have a rg560 body and need to add a neck, which would be an AANJ neck! simple really! lol

A standard neck joint body can not be converted for an AANJ neck.

I could be completly wrong, but didn't Vai do it with Flo, which was a regular fp?

Taking a look at the situation, I don't see why it couldn't be done. It would require removing some wood in the neck pocket, and drilling 4 new holes for the new neck screw locations.
That's a rather serious modification though. I don't think I would attempt it and would just buy the correct style neck form evilbay or something.

It can be done, but it's a lot of work. The neck on FLO was not an AANJ on a non-aanj body, rather it was just a Floral Pattern jem that had the heel joint reshaped. (at least that's what I remember it was.. I could be wrong..)
