monkey grip - how to do?

hi

I´m about to get a 7-stringed used eagle.....and I thought it would be nice to make some mods on it
and the monkey grip was the first thing that poped up in my head...
does anybody know how to do it?
dont want to start cuting on my own since woodwork is not my.....thing...

Try This! Thats an old tutorial, since then I've switched to a template and plunge router but you get the idea.

Spot-finishing the areas where the grip is cut out would be very difficult if you wanted it to look any good.

Yes, and I'd recommend you strip it before as well.

btw, my cousin knows an englishman which company have made some kind of color....
when its hot (from a ex. hand) it turns yellow and when it is cold ( from ex. water) it turn green...
cool with that as a finish.....
