I was looking to buy a new guitar but after looking all over it was obvious I needed to build one to get the parts I wanted. I found this site and used it as a reference throughout the process. I bought a rg5ex1 neck because I like the reverse headstock. The body is also a rg but I filled the middle pickup hole as I only wanted two humbuckers. I got an ofr which was a drop in fit for me. Even the ofr studs screwed into the trem anchors. The pickups are
emg 81 in the bridge and a emg 60 in the neck. I really like the feel of the guitar. I painted the guitar with rattle cans and it came out pretty nice. The cost of professional paint was too cost prohibitive. Maybe some day I'll take it apart and get it painted. Thanks to everyone on the site for all the information I got on the entire process.
