Re: My Ibanez Isnt Working???

Process of elimination - try a different lead - nothing? try another guitar through both leads - works? then it's your guitar. Nothing goes -then it's most likely a bad electrical connection either at the jack, or at the side of the pickup switch which ends up at the volume control. Ibanez electrics (switches, pots and jacks) are not exactly stellar quality unfortunately. Any remotely decent music store SHOULD be able to fix the wiring if it's one of the above.

Cheers

Its happened to me before and its really worrying the 1st time but its probably only a small soldering problem. A wire could have come lose at from the volume, maybe the tone, its actually quite common. Lots of people solder it themselves but I'd take it down to a music store.

Re: My Ibanez Isnt Working???

While there's plenty of possible reasons, it may just be easier to take it to the shop that sold it to you to fix.

If you want to fix it yourself, check to see that you are getting NO SIGNAL what so ever using all positions of the switch with the volume and tone pots fully on and then fully off(just in case someone wired the pots backwards).

Take off your control plate and test to see you are getting connectivity between the output jack and the volume pot. Seeing that your lead is fine and if NOTHING works, the problem is either between your volume and your output jack or between your selector switch to the volume pot.
