Re: my les paul

You could try amber knobs but I think it might look cool with Alu speed knobs.

Re: my les paul

I guess if you're really particular about keeping the tone in tact you'd wanna stick with Gibson pickups. I'm not a fan of the Les Paul sound, I think it can be improved, but that's just me. I guess the PAF Pro isn't far away from a Gibson tone anyway.

Blue pickups. Also Qparts makes some excellent Knobs with blue abalone on the tops. Also in my personal opinion Dimarzios will only enhance the tone of an LP. However if you want to keep it as authentic as possible PAF pros would be the way to go.

Re: my les paul

Go gold hardware, knobs & stuff then it won't look as cheep, gold makes the blue colour stand out & gives the guitar an expensive look

Very nice LP bro looks great - I luv it!

Re: my les paul

Gold looks cheap to me, it has the opposite effect to what it should. That's why I dislike the Jem VWH so much. Cheap and nasty looking, yet the intention looks like it was to make a "classy", expensive instrument.

Again, I'd go with blue PAF Pro's and use metal knobs on it.

Re: my les paul

Cheers for the advice so far. The thing i love about this LP is the quilt on it. It used to be a more solid blue, but now it has faded to a gorgeous aqua colour. I was thinking about some amber speed knobs to start with, but i cant decide whether it would enhance or detract from the quilt?

Indeed, each to their own. I know it's not a Jem, but I just don't like gold hardware on any guitar. It's just me. Maybe I'm odd or something...

Re: my les paul

Gold still = classy, although i prefer chrome hardware myself. Best upgrade i ever made to my lester was *sperzel locking tuners*. I would suggest new pickups too, that looks like an epiphone from here but i can no longer tell these days with the new models.

Yeah, abalone would look great, gold knobs with blue tops and gold hardware.
