My new project! RG550 -> RG BSR

So, I decided to strip down my RG. Sanded off the finish, painted the cavities black and abused the body and the headstock with a heat gun. I also scalloped the highest four frets.

The final finish will be burnt stained red (á la Jem BSB). Silver mirror pickguard, black pickups and knobs and chrome hardware.

How does this sound like? Pictures will appear later!

EDIT: At the moment there's no paint. Only burnt wood. Looks cool, but needs the colour. I try to paint it this weekend at home.

Thanks! Yes, you'll get the pics then.

Was the first time for me to do scallops. It was quite easy and they turned out really nice. Just one flaw (?) on the 21st fret's inlay, but doesn't matter.

Wouldn't look too bad with a vine neck either, would it? Too bad the headstock's white, though =)

Headstoc's ready. How does it look like? All the "ugly things" will be under the truss rod cover

Me either =) Let's see how the body will turn out.... Many chances of a great disaster there are... :-|

Wow, that headstock actually looks really great, I like the color a lot. This has got great potential in my opinion. The body might be a little more burned than I would go for, but then again, the chrome Lo-Pro and mirror pickguard should really set it off nicely. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
