I discovered a bunch of antimony leaflets in my fathers stuff he left to me. I decided to try using them as shims in my guitars. I have had excellent results. They are metal and slightly stiffer than gold leaflets. The result is that when used in a nut or
neck shim they offer a tight fit and seems to even improve sustain. I will mention though, Antimony is a very poisonous metal. I would not recommend handling it anymore than nessesary with your bare hands. However, once its in the pocket, it won't be in contact with you any longer. Off the wall thing to find laying around the house isn't it? My father babbled with alchemy. If you know much about it , it explains all.
