My Strings Are Going SHARP After A String Change!?!?

Hi Guys,

I have a small problem with my Edge III tremolo-equipped RG320FM. I haven't used it for about 4 months, and then last week I went to change the strings (I'm selling the guitar soon). When I was changing strings I noticed that the bridge had-little-to-no room to go sharp (e.g. semi-tone at best). So, I changed the strings (and let them stretch for a few days), and re-adjusted everything so the the trem-angle is neutral, string action is factory height, neck relief, etc, etc. But all of the strings are going sharp, as if the bridge wants to rest against the guitar's body. If I keep loosing the strings in order to tune correctly, I'm afraid then that what will happen. Now what?

Thanks

You "changed the strings and let them stretch for a few days"? You also mentioned that you readjusted everything so the trem angle is neutral. Did you replace all strings at the same time or did you replace the strings one at a time? Anytime you replace strings YOU should be the one who does the stretching, and the guitar.

How come the trem has "little to no room to go sharp"? can you post some pics of what you're talking about?

I haven't used my trs-equipped yamaha for while and the guitar is still in tune since the last time I changed the strings on it which was at least 3 months ago.

I seem to be having the same problem with my Original Edge Trem, whenever I fine tune, the strings are sharp and I have to keep going up.

My RG came stocked with 9s and I currently have 9.5s on it.
