Neck for a JEM body

Hello everybody. I am starting a project to build a guitar and bought a JEM body off of **** and am now looking for a neck. I originally wanted a Warmoth neck but they told me it won't fit the body. I want a maple/maple neck and fingerboard (preferably flame) and I was wondering if anyone knew a good place where I could find an awesome, preferably fast, neck to fit my JEM body. It would also help if it was a place like Warmoth that takes custom orders and stufff like that. Thanks.

Re: Neck for a JEM body

(sorry my english)

yes...
at the biginning, i didn't know any luthier.
i bought 2 bodies from monsterguitarshop. and a friend here in Spain bought other by e-bay, also from monsterguitarshop.
i didn't buy my bodies from e-bay. i bought from him by email.

one body mine (ash DC03) was in not good conditions. didn't fit anything. i had fix it. and i got it, as you can see in the thread DC03.

the other body (DC02) is in good conditions. it needs some little fix but the body is ok. no problem with this body.

i think that all stuff that you can buy from all luthiers always need some little fix. All parts is not always fit perfect.

but my friend's body was a big s.h.i.t. it was a trash!!!. the body was very cheap. i think that MGS sold his wrong stuff on e-bay with a cheaper price.

this is my experience.
and this is the reason that i made my owns bodies.

dani.

I thought that Ibanez used fender pocket specs? If it's true, then any 25.5" warmoth with the 24 fret extension should fit on your body provided it's the old neck joint.

Re: Neck for a JEM body

The older JEM and RG guitars use a neck pocket that fits the fender heel, BUT, those Ibanez necks have a long overhang with 24 frets. While the fender scale is correct, using a 22 fret neck would look terrible. I am referring to those Ibanez guitars that use a 4 screw neck plate like many fenders. If your body has the rounded AANJ heel that takes the offset screws with the shoulder washers(post 1991 or so) then no fender-style neck will fit. You need to figure out which heel style you have and then order the correct neck from an aftermarket vendor listed on the jemsite, or grab a used neck from *bay. If this is still confusing, post a photo of the body.

Re: Neck for a JEM body

Thanks for your input. I think I'm going to go with a neck from Chris Woods
since his stuff is completely awesome and will fit (after doing research and reading everyone's posts).
