neck question

I want to upgrade my guitar that i have rg270dx (i know not great all i could afford at the time had it for like 6 years or so) i like it and dont feel i need to get a whole new guitar would rather just add parts too it. im looking at getting a prestige neck to put on it just for the heck of it and i just want to ask some people that know better than me. Will an AANJ heel from the prestige fit my heel (aanj also) even though the year differences? thank you for any responses

I attempted this a little while back. The heel should fit but you will most likely need to fill the current holes of the neck and redrill holes. This was a pain in the ass and now my rg270 body is currently sanded down sitting in my garage. Redrilling holes in the neck reduces the value of the neck IF in the future you decided to change it for something else (not a big concern but worth noting). My advice ... a prestige neck on the bay is usually about US 230 to 250. Spend another 100 and buy a used RG 570 (Japanese) or something like that.

Thank you i just wanted to run that by someone who would know or has had experience with it. i appreciate your honesty i may look into doin that.
