need advice with electronics

im in need of help of deciding what kind of pots my guitar needs.i have a ibanez art100(les Paul body) and i don't know if i should get long shaft pots or regular strat kind.i also want to know what caps do and how they affect your tone.thanks

i dont know that model in particular but i am going to say they are probably short shaft, The only way to know is check though.

As far as caps go, the larger the cap the more treble is cut out of the sound. Small vaule caps are used as a high pass filter like on the high end JS line of ibanez guitars.

You will probably want to go with .022 uf . You may want to play around with the vaule a little or add smaller caps in conjunction with the .022 to step up the vaule little by little.
