Need Help Finding a Very Small Part
Hi all,
I just took possession of a 2006 RG350DX. Great guitar, sounds and plays amazing, but just like when I got my S470, when I got it, it's missing a part on the tremolo. It's the
Edge III
model, and I'm missing the allen screw with spring that screws into the bottom of the arm hole in the block to limit how far down the arm goes. I figure it must've vibrated out or something. Either way, it's gone, so if I adjust the arm to swing, it drops in too far and hits my knobs.
I need to either find someone online that sells the part, or to know what size and thread it is so I can try to find it locally.
Can anyone help?
I've looked at all the parts places I could find, and even Ibanez's part catalog doesn't list it.
Thanks,
Sean

Ask JJEMMER, he has the most experience looking for small parts.

Cid, you should stop asking him for help and get yourself a magnifier!
It's M4x14 [14mm long], the spring probably just keeps a little tension on it to stop it from vibrating free. Stick a pad bolt in there and screw it down all the way and see if the bar height is good. Those are M4x8.

Hey, thanks! That's exactly the info I needed. What's a "pad bolt"?

Ah. Yeah, I tried one of those - not _quite_ long enough. If I weren't going to let it swing, it wouldn't be a problem, but it'll bother me if it hits the knobs. At least now I know what I'm looking for. Thanks, guys!

Re: Need Help Finding a Very Small Part
My Home Depot has them in longer sizes, but type doesn't matter, thread is all that matters. By whatever in 10 and 12mm, on should be the right length, if not just grind it down till it is. That way you don't need the spring.

Excellent idea. I'll probably have less chance of it getting lost again if I can screw it down tight.
