Need help with a complete Universe setup ASAP!

Yo!
The vocalist from our band let me borrow his Universe UV777BK {'99 model, black with pyramids}. I have a new set of GHS 9-58 strings for it. The guitar currently has 10's on it in a 5 spring configuration, and the tension is soooooooo tight! I'd like to put the 9's on there and bring then tension down a lot. I'd also like to lower the action a bit. The only real problems i have is the whole procedure of changing the string gauge and spring configuration while keeping the trem stable and at the proper angle. Please offer me step by step advice in laymans terms, i haven't worked on the Lo-Pre Edge that much. Thanks!

I have 9-56 on my uv.I use 3 springs. When I change strings I usually stuff the cardboard string packaging under the trem to keep the angle somewhat close, some use plastic bottle caps etc.-anything that won't scratch the finish.Be prepared to give the trem claw screws a few turns if you switch to 3 springs. There should be a setup section on this site or click the ibz rules banner at the top of this page.
