I've moved this to the tech section where there'll be more folks who can help you on a dedicated trem-repacement question.

You might also try the search facility of the site to try looking for things like replacement trem and RG470 etc Many folks agree with your opinion and would like to get rid of that trem asap, others have found it to be perfectly adequate.

the schaller will fit, but i recommend the floyd rose original. ed roman(who is a bonafide DICK) has them at the best price for a new one anywhere...unless vwall lets us know something. that or a FR pro since the rg470 is recessed enough to accommodate the low profile.

You mean, even the Schaller Floyd Rose 3 low profile would fit???

and one more question:
the schaller studs will not fit into the stud inserts!
which should I use, the studs from a Lo-Pro edge???
thx

Edge studs won't fit either. If you don't want to work heavily on your guitar body, just keep the TRS studs and you'll be fine.

yup, keep the trs studs in. less work, same deal. only difference in the FR and TRS style is really cosmetics and height. same otherwise. the edge ones are the bad ass ones. those have better angles...well the older ones anyway.
