Need your expertise on action setup...

What is the best way to get the lowest possible action without getting fret buzz on a 7v? The action my 7v from fret 1-11 is just about perfect but from 12-24 it is just a few millimeters too high for my preference. When I lower tremolo height I get fret buzz on the first fret. Will shimming the nut help remove the fret buzz and allow lower action from frets 12-24? Or is there something I should try? I already checked out the tech section which doesn't say much about add shims

nut height does affect action but when you say a few mm too high !!
the action at fret 24 should be below 2mm both bass and treble side...
read the ibanez rules tech section and if that fails, take it to a tech.
