LOL

I do think we all can agree that its badass.. Good job SCS..

I was looking for pics of my RC days with the Alclad paint. Even a fingerprint will look horrible with it..

When SCS says its got to be perfect hes not kidding. I will also vouch for it, this paint is so sensitive its not even funny..

On a side not SCS you ever use the Alclad prismatics the Scarabeus is mind numbing-ly beautiful.. I would look into it.. If you painted one in that finish I guarentee the jemsiters would go nuts.

Re: New Chrome Painted Ibanez

Looks good. Could you do chrome colors that way? Like blue chrome? or red or green? that would look cool too.

Re: New Chrome Painted Ibanez

It will look the same once its cleared. No difference, just protection. Yes I can do it in colors too. Basically now all I'd have to do is put a transparent color over it, if I wanted Blue chrome just put a blue kandy over it, and with teh chrome base it would look like blue chrome, or yellowish amber would look gold, green kandy would be green chrome, etc.....I will be doing them in every color, and even some in chrome with different color chrome flames and graphics, like tribal flames in chrome red, etc.....you wouldn't add the color to a clear, but rather a clear base coat, then once its dry then you would clear. You never want to add color to clear, it dulls it, and ever think about what would happen if you got a run? You would now have a run in the color. So you use it in a clear base coat then top coat with clear coat. I'll probably also be matching the headstock too with a black Ibanez decal under the clear.

I have not seen the Alclad prismatics, but I'll check into it. This paint is so touchy that you have to even use a special tack rag otherwise you'll see wipe marks where you tacked it......wipe marks that are invisible to the eye but show up when the chrome is applied.

Re: New Chrome Painted Ibanez

That looks amazing! I might have to start building some Ibanez guitars and sending them to you for paint.

BTW, nice Saleen shirt too.

SCS this doesnt do it justice but its almost as touchy as the chrome.. You need a smooth surface as well.. Awesome paint you have to see it to really see how it moves.

Wow, that model car reminds me of the JS90th. I like the chrome paint job too. How much are you going to list it for?

Re: New Chrome Painted Ibanez

thats an awesome job there mate,

One question, you said the paint was soft, does that mean that you cant wet flat any runs that you might get ?

and just how glassy smooth did that primer have to be ?

cant wait to see it cleared mate !

P.S - how much for a JEM body ? PM me with cost !

Crivens that looks good!

Dilemma - New car or a *real* chrome JEM?

GAAAAAH.

I never thought chrome could look so cool.
