new ibanez Edge Pro bridge or floyd lo pro

I have a decision to make about what bridge to route a new jem body for. Its either the Ibanez Edge Pro bridge (the new one thats installed on jem know) or and original floyd rose low pro. Are there any significant performances differences, reliability, tuning, set-up, intonation, blade wearing?
please everyones 2 cents.

I'd get a Lo-Pro Edge instead since this is a project and you're starting from scratch. Unless you don't like the Lo-Pro Edge, then I would say go with the Edge Pro. The kits nowadays can be bought on the bay or from Rich (Ibanez Rules).

I hope this helps and don't forget to post pictures of the build!

i do have a preference, the edge pro looks to be a little more intricately built. i do believe you dont have to cut the ball of the string when replacing strings. is this accurate? i just didnt know if the original floyd low pro held a significant advantage, tonal, sustain, ect...

yep, no need to cut the ball end of the strings, I actually like the EP better than the OFR , and I also think it looks better, so IŽd say go for the EP

The main difference with the Edge Pro over the Lo-Pro Edge is that the Edge Pro has a lower profile than the Lo-Pro Edge. The benefit of not having to cut the ball end of the string is nice and to be honest, I've been cutting the ball ends of my strings even with the Edge Pro just because of force of habit

I prefer the Lo Pro out of all the Ibanez trems.

The LoPro is also my fav. I also continue to cut the ball end off the strings because with the time it takes to back the screw out so the ball fits in and then tighten it back 10 turns, its just as fast to cut the ball off. The only time I would skip cutting is if I was on a gig and didn't feel like digging out the cutters.

i don't have a Low-pro but I DO have the Original Edge & the Edge Pro.
I prefer the Edge. ...and as far as cutting the balls off the strings???
Why don't you just string it backwards with the balls holding solid to the machine heads?
I've been doing that for years.

I have a question for you guys, just got my new Ibanez RG2550E Prestige today and this came to my mind, does the Edge Pro keeps the guitar in tune for a long time?
