New Jem BRMR Trem question (edge pro)
So i just bought a new jem brmr and while im really quite happy with it i think that the
edge pro trem
thats in it just isnt for me, ive played on older
edge trems
and had been very happy with them, so i looked through the trem section on the site and didnt see anything about the edge pros, but the original edge and original edge lo-pro's. im curious if i can just drop in an older edge or if there would need to be modification done to the guitar?

I´m not shure if you have to do any modifications to the guitar, but I don´t knoy why a lot of ppl doesn´t like the edge pro, I like tge fact that it feels smooth and looks really cool, besides I can go Vai crazy and it doesn´t let me down.
Is the top of the brmr real mirror?

they arent retro fit so i dont think u can just swap it without routing the body.
Id try a pro setup before such a drastic change. A floating bridge only performs as good as its setup so if tuning stability is the problem it can b fixed. If u just generally dont like the feel of the bridge then... yer... a swap would need some routing.

What is it exactly that you don't like about the Edge Pro? I have all three versions and the big difference about the older designs versus the Edge Pro is the profile of the trem itself. I'd get it setup properly by good tech along with the stud locking mod.

i think that its because i pick with my wrist and the spot where the fine tuners are on the original edge gives me a type of "pivot" point rather than just keeping my wrist floating. im gonna have it set up this weekend, i think ive got some spare
locking studs
around here somewhere so we'll see how that goes. i may just have to get used to it, im not really into modding my BRMR =\ haha.

Personally, if it gets to the point that you don't like the trem, the only option may be to sell the guitar, as there aren't any other trems that will retrofit in the space of an Edge Pro.
