New mad idea for project

Now, this is one of those project ideas that you have when you have too much time in your hands...

How about getting a black OLP MM1 and doing this:

http://airguitarhero.onfinite.com/album/156502/

That'd be a sort of poor man's EBMM Steve Morse with a maple fretboard (which I'd love). The headstock would be 4+2, of course, but the closest Kisekae I could find was the Wolfgang (DON't laugh at the pickguard, I was doing my best!).

I know I'd be better off getting the EBMM Steve Morse, but where's the fun in that??!!

It should be pretty easy really:

- Block the trem
- Drill a couple of holes for the switches (the Strat switch slot would be tricky though), or just route the whole cavity out
- Get a pickguard cut (or cut it out from an old bucket!)
- Spend 3 days trying to work out the wiring (diagram available at the EBMM website)
- Install the p/ups of your choice (white, of course; I'm a sucker for white p/ups on black)
- Sit back and admire your work (don't play it, for heaven's sake: GAS prevents from playing )

Estimated cost:
OLP: $200
Pickguard: about $40
p/ups: $150 if new
Electronics: $50
Coffee: $20

So, you have a completely unplayable freak in your hands for just $450, while you could have a fine instrument for $1200, but with none of the fun.

Of course, I have no intention of doing it in the near future (that would mean work), but there's the thought. What do you think? Am I a visionary genius or just a raving lunatic??!!!

Nah!

The point is to have a close copy of the Steve Morse model with a maple fretboard...

... and F**K Ed Roman anyway! Little obnoxious mafioso wannabe

No need to apologise, Kontalonis.

Actually, his idea is not bad at all, but I couldn't let the chance of flaming him pass by

MM1's are great little guitars for modding!

Why don't you go with a MM4 since it is closer to the steve morse body style?

That's a great idea! The mods would certainly be easier. Mmmh, the mind runs riot...
