New Neck Joint Cracks

Okay, this is more of a vent then a post but I am seriously depressed this morning.
I bought a guitar about a year ago and have babied it the entire time. It has never even left my room. I am pretty anal about taking care of my guitars so I wipe them down after every time I play so I know every single mark on every one.
Anyway, long story short I was playing it last night and noticed two NJFC's one on the treble side and one on the bass side. It just about made me sick. I mean I REALLY baby this guitar (which is why it probably happened)
Does anyone have any clue why these things would all of a sudden appear?
It has not been shipped in over a year.
It is kept in its case in a climate controlled room.
Not my number one guitar so I probably only play it once ever month or so.

Anyway, it really bugs me, so thank for listening....

that is really unlucky, i over protect my guitars too. That reminds me of my first Ibanez years ago (i still have) i was carefully dusting it when the cloth must have had some piece of grit or something on it which caused a fine scratch right across the front of the body. That made me feel sick too.

Seems weird you'd get a crack though from a controlled heated room when guitar in case

I know, I think that is why I am so bummed by this. I REALLY REALLY REALLY took care of this guitar and then out of the blue they apear.....

Stresses tend to concentrate at sharp angles. Its just the way it goes... the finish contracts and a crack starts at the weakest point.

Its very common and nothing to worry much about.

pretty sure theres a topic somewhere on here about these cracks, isnt it just the paint and nothing to do with the wood, so physically everything is fine its just a cosmetic thing. Though that'd still bug me no end

Unfortunately my last guitar that had these, it was through the wood as well. Just another reason it really bothers me. I know most people say not to let it bother me, but to go from a mint condition guitar to all of a sudden having damage it just kind of nags at me. I know that when the shock wears off, I will get over it, but right now it is still ticking me off.
I just feel like not even playing it anymore because i am afraid that it will get worse. I mean I did nothing to it and it happened, so what happens now if I keep playing it???
