noisey pickup selector


hi folks.my pickup selector in the neck postion cuts out now n again,im sure its just a bit dust inside,theres a spray you can buy to fix this problem,does anyone know what the name of this spray,and where it can be obtained from.rob

It goes by many names but basically it is a can of compressed air. The brand I have currently for various uses is Dust Off. You might want to get some Electrical Contact Cleaner also.

Ibby swtichs do this and it might be less hassle to just replace it.

I would actually try contact cleaner from your local electronics store, or at your hobby shop the cleaner for electric car motors.
Last I went to radio shack they only sold stuff with oils in them, not the way I'd go. They are just a greasy mess.
Just using air will only move the dust around, contact cleaner will hopefully take away any corrosion or film build up.
While your in there clean the pots too.
