Not the usual way, from Floyd rose to Edge pro

I own a couple of Ibanez guitars, which I really love. Some fixed bridge ones (like an sz, which rulez btw ) and also a s620 with zr-trem, which I also love (as long as the zero bar is out).

So, but my latest addition is a Esp made Forest GT, which has an original Floyd Rose in it.
And while there is not much wrong with that, I have my reason to want to swap it for and Ibanez edge pro tremolo unit (I don't wanna start any trem vs trem thread).

So I read a couple threads here discussing which tremolos fit into ibanez guitars.

And I think as far as i understand these threads, the Edge pro (which i want put into that guitar to replace the Floyd rose) is a bit smaller than the Floyd Rose ??? Is that correct??
Cause as I have read, the Edge pro cavity is a bit to small to fit an Floyd rose in there, so does that on the other hand mean an Edge pro tremolo unit fits into a Floyd rose cavity without trouble???

Can anybody confirm this?

I can't confirm it, but I pretty sure the Edge Pro will fit the stud spacing. Where you WILL need to route is down in the cavity as the sustain block on the Edge Pro is wider. If you are careful about this, it should not be too hard to do with a straight cut router bit. Cover the face of the body with blue 2" painter's tape and open up the cavity where the block goes thru. An original Edge or LoPro might drop in.
