nut lock down screw

on my new rg 570, when i try to tighten the nut lock down screw(i'm refering to the screws on the back of the neck that hold on the nut) i tighten it and i can feel the tension of the screw getting harder, but after i can keep turning the screw, i don't think its stripped because it can come back out. i know this can cause tuning problems, but i have bad knife edges that i need to fix so i don't know if it will effect the tuning. is it normal for the screw not to stop when tightening?

Might want to pull the block assembly off if you get a chance and see if it isn't stripped, sure does sound like one or the other is...........

try swapping the two screws, to see if is the screw stripped, or the nut.
but i wouldn't worry as much, as long as you have the other screw working. if you say the 'stripped' screw tightens, even if doesnt stop turning, well, no problem.
