old rg - newcomers first questions

well, as you can see, this is my first post here. i hope no one will mind if some questions dont belong here. first of all, i am not a proud jem/universe owner. i have just this old rg: probably 1989, was in 1991 catalog as rg350 br, with jelutong body. my problem is that my fretboard is VERY worn out(finish is no longer on it, and the whole fretboard has this dirty-black look). i saw many pics of jems with same problem and i would ask you guys is it possible to clean this fretboard, and if it is, can it be done without removing frets. i would be happy to consider every possible opinion.
second thing: i lost many nights trying to find a webshop where i could buy NEW edge tremolo (with all accessories). if you know a good site, i would appreciate if you would share it with me. or at least if you tell me the price. and one more thing: i would like to know if there is a site from wich i could download COMPLETE ibanez catalogs.
oops, one more: i am thinking about buying rg560bk, and the guy is asking about 450$ with hardshell case. the guitar is in great condition. i wonder if anyone of you guys has that guitar so you could (not) recommend it, and if you could tell me is that price ok considering that i live in croatia where i canīt easily find a deacent rg. for better i donīt have money.
thanks in advance for your kind answers and a big HI to all ibanez-lovers on this site. and glen, site is just great. thank you for it

=o)
* * *You can clean the fret board ( i am assuming it is maple ) with a wood bleach then fine sand it with steel wool or 400 grit wet/dry sand paper to get rid of any finger divots from all the playing...

As Far as ordering a new trem your going to have to go through an authorized Ibanez dealor. I'm not sure about doing this and finding the right one that will ship to Croatia but I would recommend starting in the Vendor's section of Jemsite then going to the links section. If you need one over there I know of at least 1 shop up in Maribor in Slovenia to the north. E-mail me and I'll get you their phone number.

Catalogs are another story, your not going to find a site with downloads for them. Sorry just the facts there.....

As far as prices go for the RG 560 first thing your going to need to ask yourself is if you want a guitar with a S-S-H pickup selection? The price is about $100-125 to high compared to recent one's off the american used market.

Hope this helps you out some and welcome to the forum...Maybe we could meet sometime just for the heck of it and grab a Burek I know a little shop that makes good one's...

* Dober Dan, Brian

Hi Brian!!!
You made me more happy with your knowlege of Croatia and itīs language (since most people in USA never heard of it) than with your answers. Itīs not that i am not satisfied, I was just hoping for those catalogs...
but anyway, thanks for your advice on fretboard, it is maple, and I can hardly wait to try what you told me.
Edge tremolo is my great great wish, but I believe it is just too expensive for me, and also a expensive upgrade for that used & abused guitar of mine.
Also thanks for your opinion on RG560. I was not really going to buy it, since I donīt have money ( and job), but just wanted to see how far that guy (seller ) went with his overpricing. My favourite guitar would have only 2 humbuckers, no singles, a Les-Paul type of switch, JPM neck, and a natural finished body, any type of wood.
And of course, gold hardware w/black pickups. I donīt know what sort of pups, since I havenīt got a chance to try many of them. But I know I like pro-paffs, those I have tried.
But like I said, I can only dream of such a guitar.
Thank you very much one more time and all the best wishes. BTW, I often check your site. You have some really nice thing there. Maybe I would one day have a chance to order something from you, since I admire your work...
