Original Edge Trem - Replace the block?

Hi guys,

I have a couple of Edge trems spared up for upcoming projects and I am thinking about upgrading to a bigger block.

The trems seems pretty solid themselves so I'm not 100% as to whether or not this would be time well spent.

The main consideration is that they are obviously the size that they are to maximise trem movement and any thing more could have quite negative implications with regards to movement. Also, I cant see it being worthwhile routing the body to accomodate the larger block if the benefits are only going to be minor.

The only reason I am thinking of this is because I have had good results when standard strat trem blocks but as I said, the base of the edge is already quite solid and robust by comparison... so ... a few opinions here would be a great help.

Many thanks

WOW lol

Thanks for that, my 'seach fu'was a little weak and I didn't read you thread seeing as I don't fancy myself as a technical genius haha.

Hmm... so... bell brass... I thought solid steel was better as brass tends to absorb more of the higher end freq's, I guess this is where the 'darker' sound comes from.

Arming adjuster, sounds interesting... I'll need to search one of these.

That’s what’s different about Bell Brass you (should) retain those frequencies.
