Original floyd rose and string height?

Is there a way to change the height of each individual saddle on the original floyd rose? I just had it installed on my new homemade guitar and my overall string height is fine, but the B string is higher than the G and high E strings to where it makes it slightly uncomfortable and difficult when moving back and forth between those strings. I don't see a way to tweak this, am I missing something here? From what I can tell you can only change the overall height by raising or lowering the 2 outside pole pieces?

Your not missing anything, your right, you can't adjust individual saddle heights on the OFR, sorry.

What you could do is shim the rest of the saddles to match, and then lower the bridge action, but thats a pain in the ass imo.

The saddles are different heights. It's quite possible the b and g got swapped.

I agree with Rich. The saddles are different heights. The G & D saddles are the tallest while the E saddles are the lowest. And the B & A saddles are in between the E-E and G-D saddles. They should form an arch like the radius on the fingerboard if you get my drift.

Re: Original floyd rose and string height?

im having a similar problem with the Bridge on my ibanez, it's not an OFR, but a licensed version, i think maybe a lo-Pro Edge

the G string on the guitar is sitting higher than all the other strings by a fair enough amount that you can see it clearly and it's making it difficult to play

"On the Gibson and Floyd Rose style bridges the base plates holding the individual string saddles are generally designed to allow for the radius of the fret board so adjusting individual string height is only possible by placing a shim underneath the individual saddles on the Floyd style and not possible without replacing the blade on the Gibson style which would be a rare thing to do in either case"

this is from a site, says it's not possible to lower individual strings without using a shim or something

can anybody help me lower it by this or another method .... or am i beat and should just get a whole new bridge ??????

thanks

Check to see if the lockdown screw washer is under the saddle.
