Paints!! god damn it xD

okay so i plan to paint my new 550 and airbrush it to put new pups in

i brought the how to paint your own guitar books very sueful for except one thing
I was reading through the paints section and he recommends i use lacquered paints cause their dry times are better, and ememal paints take a day to dry between coats, which one is better? which one is more hot and cold tempered like which paints wont crack the finish if the guitar is exposed to cold and than heat. I am pretty sure i should stay away from acrylic paints but he says use them ?
Also I am thinking they only sell ememal air brush paints right ?
