Pickguard Scratches and PU Wiring - How to get rid of em and

Hi,

1. As my RG customisation continues I was wondering how to remove all of the little scratches from my pickguard (at least lessen them to a degree). *I was told that I could wet-rub the acrylic and then buff it, but can someone give me a more detailed procedure (grades of wet-rub paper, how to do it etc.). *Otherwise, are there other methods that people have tried which work better?

2. I just bought two evolutions (N & B) and a blue velvet S/C (M) to replace the V8-S1-V7 pickups of my 1997 RG 550, problem is, there are more wires coming from the Di Marzios than there are from the ibanez pickups. *I've done electronics before but have never tried wiring up a guitar - can someone please give me a wiring diagram or at least an indication of how I should go about installing my new pickups?!?! *

A lot of questions, thanks a lot!!

Can't help you with the first one, but for a wiring diagram, try this. *

Pickguard Scratches and PU Wiring

I can install scratches and get rid of PU wiring much easier than the other way around if you'd like. *

i've rewired more than a few guitars...tell you what:

get me a round-trip ticket to Australia and I'll rewire your guitar for you. *I'll also bring a brand-new scratchless pickguard with me to put on your guitar.

interested?

Pickguard Scratches and PU Wiring

Stephen,

You want to make a pickguard (or ANYTHING plastic) look brand new,...here's what you need. *You need NOVUS plastic polish. *Their website: *http://www.novuspolish.com * I believe they tell you where you can get it once you're there. *I use the stuff on my pickguards, windshield on my motorcycle, swirls on painted surfaces (metal or plastic), etc... *You name it! *I get it from my local motorcycle dealer. *I'm sure you can find it if you want to.

Hope this helps,
Joe
