Pickup advice for Warmoth Strat. Pics inside!

Hi everyone.

I just received my newest aquisition. A Warmoth strat, straight from their showroom.

Body is swamp ash with maple top. Maple on maple neck.

I'm used to playing Ibanez RG/Jem guitars, but for this one I'm not going DiMarzio for pickups. Somebody suggested Suhr. Probably good enough, but I don't get the difference between SSH and DSH - and such. Any other option is also welcome. I play mostly rock, instrumental and 80's metal. But this one is supposed to be different, so take those musical directions with a grain of salt.

I play through a custom built Soldano X88 clone. Never tried a real X88, so I can't tell you if it sounds remotely close. Home built power amp. None built by me, so I can't give lots of specs. Cabinet is a 2x12", also home built... Shocked With two Swamp Thang speakers.

Any and all ideas for pickups are welcome. Price is not so important, as the US$ is drowning anyway...

Some pics for your effort.

You get my drift?

Thanks!

I hear very good things about the Rio Grande pickups. Nice top on that body

Just today I've installed a combination of a BKP Holydiver and 2 Trilogies in my HSS Strat, and so far I love it. Really versatile but rich sounding combination. Check out their web site and see if any of their stuff sounds like what you are after. http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/

Nice to have something that isn't the usual Dimarzio or Duncan stuff too!

I'd say go all single coils, but you've already got a bridge humbucker slot there.

I myself would say put in some Lindy Fralins, and/or a Bill Lawrence L500, choose your output.
