Pickup Covers/Caps
How hard are pickup caps to install on a humbucker? I don't see how one would install then on a humbucker.
But sites such as Jeannie's Pickguards and
Pickguard Paradise
offer pickup covers for humbuckers.
How do you install them?
Thanks

Re: Pickup Covers/Caps
How do you mean pickup covers? Do you mean the plastic that the pole pieces are in that you can see from the outside?
If it is that, i've always been told that humbuckers are wax potted and you cant replace those parts, but on single coils you can. Hope this helps a bit.

Re: Pickup Covers/Caps
If you mean the so-called bobbin-toppers, they are basically just colored stickers that you stick to the top of the pickup. Humbuckers don't have replaceable covers like single coils. (That is, except for the metal can style covers, ala Gibson, etc. that are soldered over the whole humbucker.

Yeah, I guess I was wondering about the bobbins. So do you just stick these on? Glue? Are they easily removed?

Re: Pickup Covers/Caps
Yeah, its a peel off sticker with holes precut for the pole pieces.
Make sure you order 'F' spaced or normal depending on what pickups you have, otherwise the holes are slightly out
They can be easily removed as well!!
