Pickup height problem

Well less than two monthsago i received as a birthday present a 1570 and changed the string immediatly but didnŽt do anything else, today i changed the strings again and thought iŽd try raising the pups, so i uscrewed the pups and they wonŽt go up, why? theres no spring, iŽm not shure if this is normal but my epi has springs.
What shold i do?

i bet those are body mount pickups. if you want them higher you'll have to shim them.
