Pickup phase - ..should that neck pickup be upside down?
Hey guys, I was wondering what your opinions are on putting the
neck pickup
in upside down (out of phase with the bridge). I noticed my '88 FP came wired this way, but many others aren't. *Any thoughts?

Pickup phase
I got real confused with this. *I havent pulled my FP apart yet, so I dont know what it's wired like.
First, from discussions, I thought the neck pickup was upside down, then I thought the single coil was reverse wound/reverse polarity.
All I know, is that I love the combination, and would have my UV wired the same once it's clear to me.
Im eagerly awaiting someone to answer you on this.

all the JEMs are like that but the pickups are simply rotated 180-degrees so the pole closest to the neck is on in position 2. That has nothing to do with the polarity/phase and is a personal choice... glen

Pickup phase
i have a 7v, and the dimarzio name is facing the same way as the
bridge pickup
-----does this mean that its not reversed, or are they made reversed for ibanez? *also, *the wires are coming out of the same side as the bridge pickup. *

This pickup diagram from DiMarzio is essentially the same one use for the VWH. Seems like an oversight during
pickup installation

Pickup phase
Shawn--
Even though the Dimarzio hot-stamp is on the pickup the correct way, the pickup really is in there upside-down. The pickup is actually stamped upside-down.

Pickup phase
brent, what about the fact that the wires are coming out of the same side as the bridge pickup (in relation to installation)?
