Pickup replacement ?

I have just purchased some used pups(V7 and a V.I would like to put these in my Jackson Performer.now my problem is that my jackson Pup only has 2 wires (white= hot and ground). As you know the V7 and V8 has 3 wires red ,white ,ground. How are these new pups setup? Is the red hot or is the white the hot?And what to do with the "other wire"(not the ground)? The pickup config is H-S-H with a 5 Way switch. As you can tell I am new to this but I can solder.any help appreciated.
thanks yanner
P.S. i own a 87 proline series in which I am having the body refinished so i picked this up to play while mine is being refinshed

Pickup replacement ?

Yanner, the V7 & V8 are great pickups.

The Red wire is hot.
The White wire is your coil split
The ground (bare) is your...ummmmm...ground.

Solder the bare wire to the back of your volume pot.
Solder the red wire to the switch where the Jackson pups white wire is.
Solder the White wire to where the coil split lug.

Need more help, I can send you a diagram. Just let me know what switch you have.

J>

PS..FYI, The V8 is your bridge pickup.
