Pickup replacement question - Has anyone tried this?

I'm wondering if anyone has tried installing EMG 707's in any non-Ibanez guitars. I'm wondering if I would be able to fit them on a Jackson 7-string Kelly without routing. The Kelly uses pickup mounting rings, but I'm unsure if any possibly paint-damaging modifications will be required. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

About a month ago I mounted a set in Shannon Sharps RG7 and they still needed a larger cavity than stock.

Problem is with 707's verse's standard 7 string pickups is design. The Standard pup has a mounting foot thats usually narrower than the rest of the pickup where as the 707's are as wide at the point of mounting as they are anywhere across the length of them.
