Pickup selector noise help

HI

I just recently got my pickups replaced for EMG's and i got a new pickup selector put in. I noticed that when i move the pickup selector from the brdge to midway it makes a scratcy noise. There have also been times when the sound cuts out for about 1/2 second. I was just wondering is there a way to solve this problem?
