My piezo is a bit screwed, the 9v battery in it only lasts a week (even if I unplug the lead) and there is a bit of a hiss noise through my magnetics which gets louder when the battery is drained and quite loud when I take the battery out.
I got it second hand and its always been like it. I switched the pickups to air norton and steves special and rewired the pickups like this

Wondering if anyone might know what the problem is and how to fix it?!

Edit: I bypassed my piezo preamp completely and connected the input jack straight to the volume pot like on a normal guitar and the hiss is still bad so maybe this has something to do with battery getting drained. The wiring is definitely all wired up correctly so maybe the switch is stuffed or something to do with the volume pot???
