How old are the strings? Did you stretch the living **** out of them?

hey rainonthegrave. here is my take on what could be wrong.
1) if your tremolo is ****-eyed, it'll bind and cause it to not return properly. i just had this happen. i turned one stud like 1/4 turn and it took care of it. it had a nice bounce and everything. tap on the trem itself and you should feel a slight "bounce". thats how you'll know that both studs are level.
2) your studs are worn or knife edges worn.
3)also check your locking nut and be sure those two screws are snug. they will loosen up over time. as a matter of fact, i would check the neck bolts and even the saddle adjustment screws. they all loosen up with time.

tremolo: i would replace it with an Original Floyd Rose. Or an edge if you want to remove some wood.

hey man i have the same problem with GIO but right now what i did was that i fixed the tremolo to be like a hardtail one, put some pieces of wood in the middle of the trem block and the walls of the trem cavity so the trem cant move, but the right and accurate solution is the change the trems coz it simply sucks. i´m changing it with an original floyd rose but i want to know if the original floyd rose pro fits, if it does i´d probably go for that one.

Fairly common prob, with the Lo-TRS II trem. Had it myself, which is why I got rid of it, as soon as I got it. YOu can try chapstick on the trem's contact points with the posts, and other lube ideas, but, in the end, it may just be that your trem, or posts are worn.
