Question

Possible Problem?

Hi all,

Have got this guitar from the bay its an RG505 w/ original EDGE and a monkey claw (project guitar)

However is has this crack - does it look like a big problem? (Its the crack on the heel thin red line going down the body) I haven't got the guitar yet so was looking for advice before i started painting etc

http://i24.****img.com/06/i/000/f3/40/63f4_1.JPG

how easy would this be to fix? a bit of glue and a clamp or can it just be filled with some decent wood glue?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Re: Possible Problem?

Looks like your garden-variety RG neck pocket crack. If that's the extent of the damage, it's probably not a huge deal. This is extremely common on RG's. It looks like the finish is either "nonexistent" or is clear, so the true extent of the crack should be pretty easily seen if the seller is able to send you additional images. If the seller can't or won't send additional images, or at the very least, won't give you more information, the I'd stay away from it. Anyway, at a glance, it doesn't look particularly serious to my admittedly untrained eyes.

Re: Possible Problem?

thanks for the response - i've actually had it delivered so i will be able to assess it properly tomorrow when i pickup! he says its saned down to the wood - its a beater project guitar anyway.

whats the easiest way to fix it if it is more than just a hairline crack?

thanks

It doesn't look like a problem to me, but...
