Post's wont move!! - Lockdown screw is stuck.. help!

Hey Guys... another question for ya. *One of the*trem post's on my UV is absolutely stuck! The lockdown screw wont move at all. I've broken one and twisted the hell out of two allen wrenches. I think it's starting to strip. What can I do? the actual post (stud) has a crack in it so I cant even attempt to turn that. (BTW anyone has one laying around let me know, need a new one if I ever get the old one out!) *
Thanks guys,
Eric

Take the tremolo off if you have not (with strings attached i'd recommend). Anyways if you can't loosen the set screw, you'll have to take a pair of vice-grips (or similar locking pliers) and UNSCREW the tremolo stud(s). Replace them ASAP and do NOT tighten the posts whatever you do... glen

Thanks Glen,
OK, I broke the stud with the vise grips but its out, now does anyone know where I can get new ones by mail soon? I don't have a local dealer. *And why not tighten the posts? I thought they had to be.
Thanks again.

don't tighten when it's stuck and the locking screw is not loose or you can damage the post insert. Rich (ibanez rules) might have some posts, else check the Vendor List or local ibanez dealers... glen

Glen, thanks for answering my questions.
Rich, not sure i like your attitude.. think I'll look for parts elsewhere.. I don't believe in insulting potential customers.
Sorry if thats harsh, I was just looking for a part and I found a slap in the face. (oh, a smack on the head)

Hey dont worry Erok, Rich is the friendly dealer we all dream about. We are blessed to have him guard us from rotten profit-currupted a$$holes out there.

Truly, you wont be sorry. I bought my stuff from him and i've never been happier, and he sticks with his customers. He's just sending me a new volume pot since mine when out lately.

God Bless,

Keith

PS: Sorry if this sounds like a cheesy ad. *
