Powder coating - I want my hardware Orange...

Has anyone ever had their trem and other hardware powder coated? If so, how much, who did it, and how was it?
TIA

Powder coating

Sorry, I don't know where you can have this done, though I remember a discussion about this in the past..

I'm curious.. what would be the other colors on the guitar? Are you planning on making a pumpkin/haloween themed guitar?

Powder coating

Darren at ATD is swirling a body for me that is Black and Orange like VAI's Jem prototype from years ago. The swirl is incredible.

I want the Trem, tuners and locking nut to match the orange. The string saddles will stay black.

I have talked to a few people and they say it is do-able. I just want to see if anyone has done it and what the experience and product was like.

Powder coating

Dave,
Back in the day I used to work for a Gas Controls manufacturer and we had a lot of work done by a powder coating company and I asked the very same question.
I actually took a trem in and they basically said "yeah we can do it, but wave bye bye to the functionality of the fine tune screws" obviously this was from a company that dealt with huge plain chunks of metal so their process would have been a lot cruder than the likes of Ibanez who tailor their process exactly for this.

I think to do this you'd need to find a company that can work on items like small screws, saddles etc...

Good Luck
