Cool

Problems with floyd on my ibanez guitar!

Hi people!

I have this problem that it has been bugging me for quite a lot now.
I've bought this ibanez RGR 320 dx model few years back, and it has lo pro edge style tremolo on it.I've got guitar with standard 0.09 d'addario strings.
Using a bar was very cool back then and I could do all those floyd rose tricks such as dive bombs and pinch harmonic crazyness, efortlessly.
After some time I've started experimenting with other string gauges (such 0.010 and 0.011),I was also experimenting with different tunings (trying just about anything between B and E tuning).
After some time, tremolo got kinda stiff and hard to move.It was not efforless like it was before. Now I have to use much more strength to do all the things I've been managing to do before with much less aggression.
And also I get this nasty feeling that it is much more limiting now.
What could be the cause of this?
My playing styled evolved meanwhile, and now I am using tremolo much more and I would really like to set it up properly so that I could use it as good as I used it from the day one.
How should I configure backside springs?

How deep adjustment screws should go?
Currently they are screwed pretty much into body...

I am settled in standard E tuning for a long time now and using 0.09 string gauge at all times.

I would really appreciate any of your advices and I hope that with your help I will be able to resolve this situation.

Thanks in advance!

Jeff

Which ones do you mean? The one on the claw with the springs, or the two posts by the trem?

Are you using 3 springs, in a parrallel formation?

Perhpas the springs just get worn out over years - especially if you've been bombing and the like.

Im no expert but if your screwed all the way against the body then your spring are prolly shot. Maybe if you get some new springs that are tighter then you can loosen them away from the body and the loops will be closer together making the strings easier to pull. (Shh.. It makes sense to me!)
