puzzled by an RG3120...

my guys!

I found a used RG3120 in my local music store...they ask a very high price (about 1200 us$), but the worst aspect of the business is the condition of this gorgeous axe: very bad.
so bad, actually, that the two allen screws on the back of the nut are missing
(see http://www.machinediva.com/img/rgNeck.jpg to check what I mean, this is my rg570, so the screws are in well in place)
Along with other horrible defects, these screws were completely gone, so that I could look THROUGH the neck of the guitar without effort!
What puzzled me is that, even without this supposedly important parts, the string seemed to sound correctly.
So I'm asking you: what are this screws supposed to do? Is it bad to have them missed or are they a fundamental part of the instrument?
Also, is it true that ibanez is unreliable when asked for replacement parts?

The screws that fasten the nut to the neck are easily replaced. The string tension alone was holding the nut on. The nut would probably slide from side to side if you bumped it, but the lack of those (2) screws will have NOT effect on the playability or sound of the guitar.

Still...if the guitar itself is in bad shape, that's way to high of a price for any RG3120.

.
Unless you want a useless trem, because it's useless until the nut is tight
