Question about Intonation, and Rich.

I ordered a Edge bridge from Rich a while back, he claimed that he already set the intonation. I thought it was some kind of a joke. And when I installed it, I was amzed to find only one string to be a bit off.

So I copied the same theory on another lo-Pro Edge install today. Mirrored his previous setup.

And Wham! Only the High B is a bit off. Is this an Ibanez thing? Does this apply to all RG's and JEM's (By my own observation, the tolerances for Ibanez is quiet inconsistant)

And also I got a Gold Top Lock from Dcord, it is much narrower than my RG520's stock Black piece. What guitar is the Gold Top Lock from? ( S series?)

Give me a brand new Lo Pro and I'll set it like that every time. A used one that's already had the intonation moved around I'll be close on, sometimes perfect, but I'll usually have to tweak it a bit. The intonation pattern is virtually set in stone with very minor varience.

The nut could be 42mm, obviously you need a 43mm.

It's easier to explain, if anybody can follow

On a Lo Pro that has the factory jig set;

Leave the B alone, it's the only one that is in the right spot.
Look at the nose of the saddle and you'll see the angle [/] on each side at the front.
Pull the G screw and put it in the front hole and set it so that the front edge lines up with the back point of the angle on the B.
Move the E so that the back point of the angle lines up to the front of the B.
Wounds.
Pull the E screw and put it in the back hole then snug the saddle all the way up against the screw.
The D saddle is set at 1/2 of the length of the angle in front of the G.
The A saddle splits the difference even between the E and the D.
All done

Wow, I thought this was different from guitar to guitar but I can compare to my FP that I intonated two days ago and it's dead equal to what you just described.

You will get some minor inconsistencies, and every guitar isn't equal, meaning, the inserts in some aren't in perfect placement, but as a starting point that usually is dead on it works for me

Every one of my RGs and Jem have been set the same way as Rich described above. All of them came out just about perfect, with only minor adjustments needed.

By the way, this is the set up for .009 - .042 gauge strings. 10s will require further tweaking.
